The Waukegan Park District proudly owns and operates two outstanding golf courses: Bonnie Brook Golf Course (18-hole) and Greenshire Golf Course (9-hole, Par 3).
Bonnie Brook is one of the most popular public courses in Lake County, boasting a meticulously manicured 18-hole course with rolling, wooded terrain. Its natural, picturesque landscape offers golfers the ability to enjoy tree-lined fairways, spacious greens, small lakes and the beauty of the north branch of the Waukegan River, which flows gently throughout the course.
With a course length of 6,701 yards, Bonnie Brook offers championship golfers a solid test while being friendly and forgiving to the high handicappers. This course is consistently ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in Chicagoland.
Centrally located in Waukegan, Bonnie Brook provides a friendly, hometown atmosphere both on and off the course. Relax, cool off and enjoy time with friends at the bar, grill and patio area of the clubhouse.
Bonnie Brook’s Howie Robinson Indoor Golf and Learning Center is now open on an appointment basis.
Howie Robinson was Head Golf Professional at Bonnie Brook in the 1980’s. He passed away last summer and in October 2009, a memorial golf outing was held in his name. The outing was organized by Waukegan Park District Commissioner, Terry Duffy and Mr. Robinson’s good friend, Bill Nichols. Mr. Robinson’s many friends participated in the outing, raising money to promote junior golf and indoor instruction at Bonnie Brook. The result is a renovated area in the basement of the clubhouse which houses the newly installed P3Proswing Simulator. The simulator and its software helps analyze a player’s swing and provides guidance how to improve their game.
