Tim Govern – Manager, Golf Operations/PGA Golf Professional
As the Head Golf Professional & Golf Operations Manager, Tim is responsible for the daily operation of the golf courses. He has worked as a professional for over 19 years and has broad knowledge of the game and the golf industry in general. His professional experience includes Head Professional at Heather Ridge Golf Course in Gurnee, Chalet Hills Golf Club, Cary, IL and Arlington Lakes Golf Club, Arlington Heights, IL. He is a member of the PGA of America and was elected to the President’s Council for growing the game in 2005 and 2007. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University and was a member of the NCAA Division I Golf Team.
Mike Steele-Supervisor of Food & Beverage Operations
Mike was recently hired to be the Food and Beverage Supervisor at Bonnie Brook Golf Course. Mike is responsible for the general operation of the Bonnie Brook restaurant, banquets, grille room and the execution of daily food service. Mike brings over 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry to Bonnie Brook. Mike prides himself and his staff in providing outstanding service to his customers. Greg Benson – Manager, Golf Course Operations
Greg is responsible for daily maintenance related to the care of the grounds, specializing in turf care at Bonnie Brook and Greenshire Golf Courses. Employed at the Park District for 23 years, Greg is committed to keeping the golf courses expertly maintained. Greg is an active member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, and attained status as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent in 2004. He is also a member of both the Midwest Association and the Chicagoland Association of Golf Course Superintendents. Greg’s commitment to excellence is one of the reasons that Bonnie Brook is consistently chosen as one of the top 50 Chicagoland municipal golf courses.
