Golf Course Rules & Policies

    • All players must check in at the Golf Shop to receive a ticket and then report to the starter for permission to start on Hole #1 or Hole #10.
    • Non-Metal Spike Policy: Metal spikes not allowed on golf course.
    • No more than four (4) players in any one group may play at one time.  Each player must have a set of clubs and golf bag.
    • The starter will keep golfers in groups of 4 whenever possible.
    • Early morning golfers are to assist maintenance crew by giving them the right of way.
    • Do not hit to the green when the flagstick is down.
    • Players are allowed to play only one ball on each hole, and all holes are to be played in order.
    • Golf cars are to be kept on paths at all times and outside of lines around greens.
    • No pull carts are allowed across greens, tees, or through bunkers.
    • No golf bags are to be placed on any tees.  All practice swings will be done off to the side of teeing area.
    • No stroke other than a putt shall be played on any putting green.  A ball lying on a green other than the one being played shall be dropped off to the side without penalty.
    • All groups must keep pace with the group in front of them at all times.  Any problems regarding playing conditions should be reported immediately to the Golf Course Ranger or to the Golf Shop.
    • Players are not permitted to climb fences to retrieve golf balls hit out of bounds.
    • All golfers are required to wear shirts with sleeves and shoes at all times on the golf course property.
    • No beverages or food are allowed on golf course grounds unless they are purchased at Bonnie Brook Golf Course.
    • All golfers are asked to replace all divots, rake all bunkers, and repair all ball marks on putting greens.
    • When regular starting times are delayed due to weather conditions or other course situations, times will remain in the original order when play begins.
    • For certain special golf events, the Waukegan Park District may choose to reserve the Golf Course for a set period of time, thus canceling any permanent tee times previously set for that particular date.
    • Golfers are asked to not purchase golf balls from unauthorized persons selling them on the Waukegan Park District property.
    • Golfers are prohibited from playing range balls on the golf course. The staff will retrieve any range balls found on the golf course.

Driving Range Rules & Policies

    • Golfers using the Bonnie Brook Golf Course golf practice range are not allowed to walk out past the front of the tee markers to retrieve golf balls already hit.
    • All golf balls hit on the Bonnie Brook Golf Practice Range must be purchased in the Bonnie Brook Golf Shop.
    • Do not hit range balls over hill (berm).
